Maternal and Child Health: Wisconsin Child Psychiatry Consultation Program
What is the goal of CPCP?
The Wisconsin Child Psychiatry Consultation Program (CPCP) provides consultation, education, and resource support to participating primary care providers caring for children and teens with behavioral health challenges.
Wisconsin CPCP is designed to address the ongoing shortage of child and adolescent psychiatrists. Like other national programs, Wisconsin CPCP is one piece of the puzzle to address the behavioral health needs of kids and teens in Wisconsin.
The Medical College of Wisconsin designed and developed this state model with support from WI DHS.
What does CPCP provide?
The Wisconsin CPCP increases the capacity of primary care providers to support the mental health needs of Wisconsin children and families by offering:
- Provider-to-provider consultation with child psychiatrists and a pediatric psychologist.
- Mental health education free of charge, provided across multiple platforms.
- Resource linkage support to other mental health professionals and community resources from dedicated program coordinators.
The Wisconsin CPCP does not provide direct patient care.
How can providers learn more, enroll, and access CPCP?
To participate, visit the program on their homepage or contact wicpcp@mcw.edu to schedule a meeting for your clinic.
