DCTS: Hospital Price Transparency

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) require hospitals to post standard charges for services. Price transparency allows patients to be more informed about the care and treatment provided at hospitals.

The Division of Care and Treatment Services operates two psychiatric hospitals that provide inpatient care.

Mendota Mental Health Institute (MMHI)
301 Troy Drive
Madison, WI 53704

Winnebago Mental Health Institute (WMHI)
4100 Treffert Drive
Oshkosh, WI 54901

The standard charges for MMHI and WMHI are available in tables and as downloadable machine-readable files below. MMHI and WMHI do not provide any of the 70 CMS-specified shoppable services (45 CFR 180.60(b)(2)).

MMHI and WMHI do not accept patients seeking voluntary treatment. Patients are referred to MMHI and WMHI through the court system and county health and human services agencies.
