FoodShare and Medicaid in the news
Government programs have been in the news lately as lawmakers worked on the state and federal budgets. Gov. Tony Evers and Wisconsin Department of Health Secretary Kirsten Johnson recently issued this statement about the current status.
It will take a while to put in place any new requirements. We'll let you know if changes to FoodShare, BadgerCare Plus, or other Medicaid programs impact you.
For now, continue to take care of your health and well-being, and:
- Use your benefits for prescriptions, doctor’s visits, ongoing treatments, and more.
- Make sure we have your current contact information on file. Log into ACCESS (ACCESS in Spanish) to check your address, phone, and email.
- Read any mail, texts, and email messages you get from us.

Cost of living adjustments start in October
Starting with your October benefits, cost of living adjustments will be made for all FoodShare members. Changes for monthly income limits, allotments, deductions, and allowances will occur.

Fraud alert: fake ebtEDGE mobile app
There is a fake version of the ebtEDGE mobile app in app stores. It is charging users a $4.99 weekly fee or $60 for lifetime access. Do not use this app. The real ebtEDGE app does not charge a fee to use it.

Replacement benefits available
FoodShare members who lost food due to storms or power outages can request replacement benefits within 10 days of the food loss.
Log in to ACCESS (ACCESS in Spanish) and click “Food Benefits Replacement Request” in the left menu. Or call your agency to request them by phone. | September 22, 2025
Explore the MyACCESS app to view FoodShare information
Did you know that you can use the MyACCESS mobile App to get information about your FoodShare benefits?
Within the app you can check your current QUEST card balance, learn more about your next deposit, and review 90 days of past activity. | September 1, 2025
Restart FoodShare by meeting the work requirement
Lost FoodShare due to not meeting the work requirement?
You can get benefits again by meeting the work requirement for 30 days, showing you will meet the work requirement in 30 days, having an exemption, or having good cause. You may need to reapply to get benefits again. | September 1, 2025

If you get FoodShare, you might also qualify for other types of help.
