Qualifications of all new and interim local health officers are reviewed by the Division of Public Health (DPH) to assure compliance with Wis. Stat. ch. 250 and Wis. Stat. ch. 251 and Wis. Admin. Code ch. DHS 139 and Wis. Admin. Code ch. DHS 140. Two resources are available to support local health officers, local hiring authorities, and local boards of health or local health and human services boards as they consult with DPH during the local health officer hiring process.
