LGBTQ Health
The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) community includes people from diverse backgrounds. Community members vary by:
- Race
- Ethnicity
- Age
- Income
- Education
For some, sexual orientation or gender identity is central to their self-concept. For others, this may not be the case. However, many LGBTQ people experience discrimination, which leads to poorer health outcomes.
National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center
The National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center provides programs, resources, and consultations to health care groups. The Center’s goal is to create quality, cost-effective health care for LGBTQ people.
