EMS: 2023–2026 Late Renewal Licensing Information
Late renewal requirements for 2023–2026 licensure cycle
Wisconsin law (Wis. Admin. Code § DHS 110.05(1)) requires those who do EMS (Emergency Medical Services) work to be licensed or certified. All Wisconsin EMS licenses and certifications expire every three years.
If you didn’t complete the 2023–2026 Practitioner Renewal application process, your license or certificate expired on June 30, 2023. When your license or certificate expires, you are removed from the service roster and are no longer credentialed with your service.
To re-apply, first you must complete the 2023–2026 Practitioner Renewal application process for the appropriate license level. We will then issue you a 2023–2026 license or certificate. Once your license or certificate is issued then you can complete a Local Credential Agreement to be credentialed with any service.
Types of renewals
If your license or certificate expires, you can’t upgrade or downgrade your license or certificate level. You must renew at the level you had as of June 30, 2023.
