Consumer Guide: Free or Reduced-Fee Vision Services

This list of resources includes where you can find eye care for free or at a lower cost.

  • Eyecare America—Provides access to medical eye exams. Helps you get free eye care from certain eye doctors if you qualify. Also raises awareness about macular degeneration and other eye diseases. The program is offered through the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
  • Eyes of Hope—Provides gift certificates for eye exams and glasses to adults and kids who don’t have insurance. The program is offered through VSP Vision.
  • VISION USA—The Wisconsin Project—Provides free eye health and eye care services to kids in need. The program is offered by the Wisconsin Optometric Association. Spots are limited.
