Benefit Counseling: Work Incentives Benefit Specialists
What do work incentives benefit specialists do?
Work incentives benefit specialists offer support to people with disabilities by helping them make informed decisions about employment. They help people understand how they could benefit from working, and explain special rules about returning to work. They also help people understand how their work and earnings can affect their disability benefits.
Work incentives benefit specialists can also help explain Social Security’s Ticket to Work program, which provides free job support to people with disabilities who want to work.
Where can I find a work incentives benefit specialist?
Through the Ticket to Work program
You can visit the Ticket to Work website, or call 866-968-7842 or 866-833-2967 (TTY). You can also email support@choosework.ssa.gov.
Through the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation
