WISH Query: Teen Births Module (Teen Birth Rates)

(Data Updated February 2024)

This module creates statistics on the rate of births to Wisconsin teens since 1990. Another module shows Percent of Births to Teens.

This revision adds 2022 birth and population data.

To define your query, first choose a measure, such as the overall teen birth rate. You may focus on certain counties or regions for the current year or a range of years since 1990. Finally, choose row and column variables.

Note: Rates can only be calculated for geographical areas and subpopulations for which annual population estimates are available.

See Measures Used In Birth Modules for definitions and notes on measurement.

Step 3. Choose One or More Years

You can see data for the latest available year (2022). Or you can choose to see one or more single years, or one or more groups of years. If you are requesting data for an area or group with few annual births, it may be useful to combine years of data. WISH suppresses small numbers (cell size less than 5) to comply with Wisconsin vital records data privacy guidelines.

One or more years: Click the "One or more years" button. Then select a year, or hold down the Control (Ctrl) key and select more than one year.

Note: To see results for a series of years (or a series of year groups), first select the years of interest here, then choose "Year(s)" as a ROW or COLUMN variable in Step 4 or 5 below.
