The 1 West Wilson Street building in Madison is located two blocks from the State Capitol, across Wilson Street from the City-County Building and directly behind the Monona Terrace Convention Center. It is also known as the Wilson Street State Office Building.

The building is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday, except for holidays and during inclement weather.

  • From the NORTH & NORTHEAST - Minneapolis, Wausau, La Crosse, Fox Valley
    Take Hwy 151/E Washington Ave. into downtown Madison. As you approach the Capitol Square, follow 151 from East Washington left onto Blair Street. Take Blair two blocks and turn right onto Wilson Street. 1 West Wilson is the large gray building on the left in five blocks.
  • From the EAST - Milwaukee
    Take Hwy 30 into Madison and take the Hwy 151/E Washington Ave/Capital exit and turn right at the lights. As you approach the Capitol Square, follow 151 from East Washington left onto Blair Street. Take Blair two blocks and turn right onto Wilson Street. 1 West Wilson is the large gray building on the left in five blocks.
  • From the SOUTHEAST - Chicago, Janesville
    Take Hwy 12 & 18 West (Beltline) into Madison. Exit at John Nolen Drive and continue two miles to the Monona Terrace parking structure entrance on the right. If full, continue on John Nolen Drive and turn left on Wilson Street. 1 West Wilson is the large gray building on the left in five blocks.
  • From the SOUTHWEST & WEST - Prairie du Chien
    Take Hwy 12 & 18 East (Beltline) into Madison. Exit at John Nolen Drive and continue two miles to the Monona Terrace parking structure entrance on the right. If full, continue on John Nolen Drive and turn left on Wilson Street. 1 West Wilson is the large gray building on the left in five blocks.

 Parking information

Parking in downtown Madison can be challenging and confusing. There is limited on-street metered parking near the building for short term parking. Note that the ramps can fill up, so its useful to know the other locations as a backup.
