The Council consists of up to 25 voting members appointed by the Secretary of the Department of Health Services. A majority of the members are to be parents who reflect the diversity of the state and whose children have diverse long-term support needs; the membership also includes consumers of the children’s long-term support system; advocacy agencies; county human/social service agencies; other state departments; and provider agencies. Key Department staff are appointed as non-voting members of the Council.
