Medicaid: Wisconsin’s Manager for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation

The NEMT manager has changed

In August of 2022, Veyo, the current manager for non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) services in Wisconsin, was purchased by Medical Transportation Management (MTM), Inc.

On February 1, 2024, Veyo started their transition to MTM in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin NEMT program began using MTM Link, the MTM ride scheduling and mileage reimbursement system, on February 1, 2024. There have been no changes to NEMT covered services.

You may notice some changes to communications from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) and MTM, such as:

  • Co-branding Veyo forms and letters with both Veyo and MTM logos.
  • DHS changing the name "Veyo" on our website and in policy to "the NEMT manager" or "MTM."
  • Hyperlinks to Veyo websites being updated to a new MTM website and the MTM Link portal.

DHS and MTM are committed to making this a smooth transition for members and partners.

What does this transition mean for me?

  • The phone number you use to book rides, ask questions, and file a complaint is still 866-907-1493.
  • The staff who operate the Wisconsin NEMT program are still the same.
  • NEMT program rules, including any new rules that started when Veyo took over the NEMT program in November 2021, are still the same.
  • MTM still offers all modes of transportation and uses the same transportation companies and drivers as Veyo.
  • You can still get gas money from the mileage reimbursement program by filling out paper trip logs and receiving a paper check or direct deposit. MTM will continue to accept paper trip logs that have the Veyo logo.

These changes affect all members who use the NEMT program:

  • All MTM documents and forms now have both the Veyo and MTM logos.
  • Some MTM documents and forms have slightly different wording or layouts.
  • A new MTM Wisconsin website replaced the old Veyo Wisconsin website. For one year, the link to the Veyo Wisconsin website will automatically redirect members to the new MTM Wisconsin website.

The following changes are optional for members who want to use the new features of MTM Link. The MTM Link app allows members to:

  • Schedule and manage trips in the app instead of calling the Call Center.
  • Claim gas money using GPS location services.
    • No paper trip logs are needed using this method.
    • No signature from a healthcare professional is needed with this method.
  • Receive gas money from MTM on a reloadable Visa debit card.

No. Members are not required to use the app. The call center is available to all members at 866-907-1493.

Yes. There are three reimbursement options for members who get gas money. Those options are:

  • Paper check. Paper checks for trips after February 1, 2024, will include the trip date and trip ID number in addition to current information.
  • Direct deposit.
  • New reloadable Visa debit card.
