Demographics of Disability in Wisconsin

There are many ways of measuring disability in a population.

Over the years, various large-scale research organizations (including the U.S. Census Bureau) have used survey questions to find out how many people identify themselves as having health problems, functional limitations, impairments or disabilities.

Because each of these surveys asks different questions, each has different results and each sheds light on unique aspects of these circumstances.

The data tables here come from nationwide survey efforts that either provide state-specific results, or can be extrapolated to a state's population. Only the Census Bureau's American Community Survey provides reliable results at the county level.
