In Wisconsin, a person must be certified to do asbestos work. Asbestos supervisor certification is for a person who oversees asbestos projects onsite. These projects include asbestos removal, abatement, or disturbance. The supervisor has the authority to enforce changes or stop the project.
Certified asbestos supervisors may collect air samples to confirm if air meets clearance levels.
Asbestos supervisors must be associated with a certified asbestos company when doing asbestos work.
Duration
One year. A one-day annual refresher training is required to renew.
Fees
$125 per year
Prerequisites
You must be 18 or older. You also must complete an initial five-day asbestos abatement supervisor initial training course. Find a training provider.
