Children's System of Care: Foundations of Wisconsin Wraparound Video Series

The Foundations of Wisconsin Wraparound video series is intended for anyone thinking about being involved in a wraparound process, the team-based approach for delivering services to children with emotional and behavioral health challenges in their homes and communities. The child and their family are centered in the healing process. Their goals, hopes, and dreams provide the direction.

Youth and their families join together with service providers and other natural supports from the community to organize a wraparound team. The wraparound team works together to create and implement a plan of care that serves as a roadmap to guide the provision of services to the youth and family. The wraparound team is led by a care coordinator who is trained and experienced in the wraparound process.

This video series will give you the knowledge needed to get started using the wraparound process to support youth and families.

Training modules

The Foundations of Wisconsin Wraparound video series is a collection of eight training modules. Each video focuses on a key component of the wraparound process.

• If you are new to the wraparound process, you should watch the videos in order.
• If you have experience in the wraparound process, you should watch the videos that relate to the topics you want to learn more about or need a refresher on in order to improve your application of the wraparound process.

These videos are offered for general education only. There is no certificate or continuing education hours offered for viewing these videos.

This module covers:

• Cultural and linguistic responsiveness.
• Individualized and developmentally informed.

Module 4: Getting started

This module covers:

• The eligibility criteria for Coordinated Services Teams Initiatives.
• The steps a care coordinator can take once they receive notice that a child and family have been approved for the wraparound process.

Module 5: Family engagement

This module covers:

• Information on family dynamics.
• Strategies to engage with families and youth to build trusting relationships.

Module 6: Youth engagement

This module covers:

• The special needs of youth.
• Issues of child development.
• The things that truly interest and inspire young people, known as sparks.
• Strategies on how natural supports can used as a vital component of the wraparound process.
