Wisconsin Animal Response Corps (WARC)

The Wisconsin Animal Response Corps (WARC) seeks to develop a cadre of animal-health professionals who are trained in foreign animal disease recognition and reporting, emergency management, and the Incident Command System. WARC includes veterinarians, veterinary technicians, animal handlers and animal caregivers across the state, and includes several from surrounding states.

In the event of an animal emergency, members of the WARC would aid state and federal agencies in a response. In addition, our WARC members are asked to network in their local communities as "animal-in-disaster coordinators" assisting county and local Emergency Management Directors. They are encouraged to also participate in local and regional MRC units to assist public health officials with zoonosis and animal disease issues.
