ForwardHealth: Limited Abortion Coverage
There are some situations when Medicaid or BadgerCare Plus may pay to end a pregnancy. That includes paying for office visits and related services.
This may happen if one of these is true:
- The abortion is needed to save the person’s life.
- The pregnancy was the result of incest or an assault. If it was an assault, it must be reported to police.
- The pregnancy will cause serious harm to the person’s physical health.
The person seeking an abortion must have a signed, written statement from a doctor.
