Division of Quality Assurance (DQA) Memorandums Issued Prior to the Revised Wisconsin Administrative Code, Chapter DHS 83

Effective April 1, 2009, the revised Wisconsin Administrative Code, ch. DHS 83, regulating community-based residential facilities (CBRFs), will be implemented. The new requirements may be found at the following link: http://www.legis.state.wi.us/rsb/code/dhs/dhs083.pdf

This Memo provides important information about previously issued DQA (former "BQA") Numbered Memos to CBRF providers. During a rule revision, the issue that led to the publication of a specific memo to the industry may be resolved with new code language. In other situations, the memo may still be relevant, but the reference to the specific administrative code provision has been changed.

The following table addresses only those memos published since the promulgation of Chapter HFS 83 in 1997, which are either no longer in use (i.e., obsolete) or are still applicable, but have been revised because of the new code effective April 1, 2009. All other memos issued since 1997 that are not shown in this table remain in effect as originally written.
