Code Interpretations
The links listed below can be used by facility owners, designers, local
building inspectors, or others who have a vested interest in obtaining a
written interpretation of code requirements applied during the plan review,
construction inspection, or a state or federal survey, conducted by the
Division of Quality Assurance, Bureau of Health Services (BHS) engineering
staff.
This written "interpretation" is limited to healthcare
facilities that the engineers of BHS are the authorized as having
jurisdiction (AHJ) to perform the plan review, construction inspection or
survey: these include hospitals, dialysis facilities, ambulatory care
facilities, community based residential facilities, inpatient hospice
facilities and any occupancy that is physically attached to a hospital.
