Feeding Assistant Training Program Updates

The purpose of this memo is to supplement DQA Memo 09-006 regarding the training of feeding assistants. This memo contains important information on the following topics:

Feeding Assistant Competency Evaluation Written Examination

The Feeding Assistant Competency Evaluation Written Examination (F-62693) and Answer Key (F-62694) have been updated, effective April 2009. The updated exam and answer key will be mailed to all currently approved feeding assistant training programs. Those programs should then destroy any prior versions of the exam and answer key and begin using the April 2009 versions.

Inactive Feeding Assistant Training Programs

Effective July 1, 2009, any approved feeding assistant training program that has not provided training in the preceding two-year timeframe will have the approval withdrawn. The program will be notified of this approval withdrawal and will be required to submit a new feeding assistant training program application if they wish to provide feeding assistant training again.
