Webcast 2008
Communicable disease investigation and control and
human health hazard abatement are required public health services for
all local health departments in Wisconsin
(HFS 140.04). In 2008, as
part of the Linking Education and Practice for Excellence in Public
Health Nursing (LEAP) grant, the regional public health nurse
consultants developed a set of learning modules for new public health
nurses. The modules are available at no charge. The disease
investigation and control module is divided into four sessions and the
human health hazard and other environmental health issue is on module.

Prevention (CDC),

Center
for Infectious Diseases, provides demonstrations of donning and removal
of PPE and appropriate hand hygiene. The goal of this program is to
increase the safety of the healthcare work environment and promote
patient safety through improved use of PPE by healthcare personnel.
