Links to Webcasts of Interest to Public Health2009 Healthy Babies Summit and AWHONN State Conference- Improving the Health of Parents and their Infants. Nine webcasts were recorded during the conference held on October 15-16, 2009. Included are presentations made by the keynote speakers Michael Lu, MD, MPH, widely recognized for his research in health disparities, teaching and clinical care of premature infants and Michael Fraser, PhD, Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP). Over 80 persons attended the Bright Futures training, Incorporating Bright Futures into Public Health Practice, on August 17, 2009 in Stevens Point in conjunction with the 2009 State Public Health Nursing Conference. Bright Futures presentations included a General Overview of Bright Futures: Guidelines for Health Supervision of Infants, Children, and Adolescents by one of the authors, Paula Duncan, MD, FAAP, and Jane Bassewitz, MA, staff of American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Dr. Duncan also presented the afternoon session, Promoting Family Support in Healthy Development-Strength Based Approaches. Other informative presentations to demonstrate use of the Bright Futures materials by health departments in Wisconsin were presented by Gretchen Klug of Dodge County Health Department and Paulette Mague or Eau Claire City-County Health Department. The Objectives are: 1) To identify current issues in environmental health and how it impacts their area of practice, 2) Develop an awareness of strategies to address environmental health issues, and 3) Identify ways to collaborate to address environmental health issues.
