Listed below are information and references to address physical activity and nutrition in the community setting.

Resources for Community-Based Intervention Sectors

Community can be defined in many ways, including geographically, culturally, and socially. The following represents suggested sectors of the community for you to consider when addressing overweight and obesity and resources to assist you in your efforts. Full toolkits are a complete package that incorporates all components of a good intervention.  Partial toolkits incorporate some of the components.

Resources have also been arranged by categories within each setting to quickly find a specific resource by a category.  The Setting (Kit) column contains a link to a full toolkit or page of information.  The other four columns provide a direct link to specific resources that are contained on the Kit page.

Assessment tools are checklists or data sources to evaluate the current status of the setting.
Strategies are proven or best practice ideas to implement.
Materials are related information such as posters, checklists and flyers.
Evaluation tools are specific examples of measurement tools to evaluate outcomes.
