Free or Reduced-Fee Medical Services

There are several programs offered by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. To find out if you qualify for one of these, check the information below or contact your local county or tribal human/social services department.

• Wisconsin Well Woman Program provides preventive health screening services to women between the ages of 35 and 64 with little or no health insurance coverage who meet certain income requirements. This Fact Sheet provides additional information.
  
  
• Family Planning Waiver: A Medicaid program that covers family planning services and supplies for women between 15 and 44 years of age. This brochure (PDF, 149 KB) provides detailed information.
  
  
• The Wisconsin Chronic Disease Program (WCDP) offers assistance to Wisconsin residents with chronic renal disease, hemophilia, and adult cystic fibrosis.
  
  
• Family Care is a long-term care program now available in many Wisconsin counties. The program has opened Aging and Disability Resource Centers and serves seniors and residents with disabilities.

Some free or reduced-fee medical clinics are also available in Wisconsin. 

• Search for a clinic using the database available from the Bureau of Primary Health Care, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
  
  
• The Wisconsin Primary Health Care Association  provides a list and contact information for federally qualified Community Health Centers in Wisconsin. These centers must serve patients regardless of insurance status and use a sliding fee scale for uninsured patients based on income.
  
  
• The United States Indian Health Service provides a directory of Tribal Health Centers in Wisconsin. These centers are federally qualified and must serve patients regardless of insurance status, and use a sliding-fee scale for uninsured patients based on income.
