Wisconsin Family Planning
Reproductive Health Program

Program Description

The Wisconsin Family Planning Reproductive Health Program works to provide safe and effective contraceptive (birth control) services to enable women and couples to achieve their family planning goals.

Key goals of the family planning program are to reduce the number of unintended pregnancies; provide statewide access to quality and affordable contraception (birth control); and to promote early identification of pregnancy and timely access to appropriate care.

Preventive and educational health services include reproductive health screening and assessment, contraception (birth control), emergency contraception (EC), preconception health, pregnancy testing, sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment, breast and cervical cancer screening, and short-term care coordination services.

To find a clinic near you, see a list of local family planning clinics. (exit DHFS)

The Family Planning Waiver Program

Wisconsin women seeking contraception are now able to get confidential family planning health care services and supplies through the Wisconsin Family Planning Waiver Program. The goal of the program is to help low-income women avoid unintended pregnancy and obtain family planning health care services at no charge. The program serves women aged 15 through 44 who are at or below 185% of the federal poverty level. Women can enroll in this program at any local family planning clinic (exit DHFS) and immediately begin to receive services. More information on where and how to enroll in the program is available at:
