Physical Disabilities Resources Coordinator

In the summer of 2004, the Office for Persons with Physical Disabilities was replaced by the Physical Disabilities Resources Coordinator.

The Coordinator is the focal point in state government for policies and services affecting people with physical disabilities. As part of the new Office of Independence and Employment Initiatives, the Coordinator and his staff:

• Identify system barriers, recommend solutions and initiate change

• Promote effective programs and services

• Provide leadership to support independence and self-direction for people with physical disabilities

• Invite citizens to submit questions and requests for information about topics related to physical disability; and

• Collaborate with the state's Wisconsin Council on Physical Disabilities (exit DHS)
