Rehabilitation Services

Rehabilitation Services is comprised of four different departments:   Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT), Rehabilitation Technology Laboratory and Respiratory Therapy (RT).   Each department provides evaluations of the individual's level of functioning, including recommendations for apartment staff and community staff, active treatment and equipment.

Occupational Therapy:  Sensory awareness, visual spatial awareness, body integration, cognition/judgment, fine motor coordination, strength, endurance, range of motion, reflexes and tone, activities of daily living, oral motor function, adaptive equipment and splints.

Physical Therapy:  Gross motor skills, reflexes and tone, range of motion, musculoskeletal abnormalities, adaptive equipment and splints, post surgical care.

Rehabilitation Services is involved in extensive training programs, such as nurses aide certification training, training of professional students from various universities and technical schools and workshops.

Rehabilitation Services offers an extensive Work Injury Management Program for all staff. This program offers pre-placement work capacity screenings, preventative fitness and general conditioning programs, work conditioning and work simulation programs, job site and work task analyses, ergonomic training.

Respiratory Therapy:  Bronchial hygiene, humidity and aerosol/ medication treatments, oxygen therapy, tracheostomy care, and respiratory/pulmonic maintenance equipment.
