Food Service
Welcome to Food Service! This building runs all dietary and
nourishment needs of the individuals who live at Central Wisconsin Center.
Food Service is staffed with 51 full time equivalency positions, and is
open seven days a week from 4:45 AM till 7:15 PM. Our staffing includes Cooks, Food
Service Assistants, Dietitians, Dietetic technicians and Supervisors.
In November 1999, the long anticipated dishroom project was completed. Getting
used to the new pieces of equipment was a challenge, but very rewarding.
As everyone else, Food Service experiences the ongoing recruitment difficulties.
The hard work and dedication of the employees, however, made it easy to meet the
clients needs without compromising the quality of our services. According to
the visitors from Japan, CWC Food Service is a "Four Star Restaurant".
Couple of factors that helped the recruitment and retention of employees were the
critical recruitment process and the reallocation of Food Service Laborer and Food Service
Worker positions. These two positions were combined into one classification, Food
Service Assistant.
The clinical staff consists of Dietitians (3.5 full time equivalency) and Dietetic
Technicians (1.5 full time equivalency). The increased number of short-term
admissions, the ongoing diet changes and the assessments of the clients nutritional
status kept them very busy. Clinical staff is the core of Food Service. The
production and service of all meals and snacks originate from the data provided by this
group.
