Environmental Services
Environmental Services' mission is to provide a clean, safe and healthy environment for
the people who live at Central Wisconsin Center. Environmental Services encompasses
the following departments:
Housekeeping Provides a high degree of cleanliness and sanitation at CWC.
This department is also responsible for Pest Control, inventory, storing and
delivering of resident beds, mattresses and furnishings.
Laundry - Responsible for approximately 5 million pounds of laundry generated
at the Center to include processing, contracting, inventory and distribution.
Transportation Manages the pick up and disposal of all trash, recyclables,
infectious & hazardous waste. Duties also include the moving of individuals' and
staff furnishings and equipment throughout the Center and community.
Sewing Fabricates new items for use by the people who live at the
center and facility. These items include drapes, privacy curtains, diapers, clothing
protectors, bed pads, wedges, positioning devices, specialty clothing. Duties also
include upholstering of devices used by individuals who live at CWC, mending,
manufacturing nametags and labels.
Security Responsible for the security of CWC, including coordination with
Mendota Mental Health Institute (MMHI) Security force. Areas of security include
traffic, investigations regarding theft, vandalism, trespassing or any other unusual
incidents on CWC grounds.
Safety Provides training, guidance, interpretation and investigations to
ensure compliance with all Federal, State and County regulations. Areas related to
this department include:
1. Chairperson of the Health & Safety Committee
2. Health & Safety of Clients & Staff
3. Hazardous Communication
4. Lock out Tag out program
5. Confine Space programs
6. Fire Drills & Evacuations
7. Disposal of all hazardous waste
