The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Public Health (DPH) has announced the availability of funds to help organizations create safe environments, encourage positive social norms, and discourage unhealthy social norms to reduce sexual violence. The partners who receive funding will work on primary prevention efforts to make Wisconsin safer. They will focus on preventing violence against those who are most affected, including:
- People with disabilities.
- LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, particularly transgender and gender nonconforming people.
- Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color.
Over the next five years (2024–2029), Wisconsin’s Sexual Violence Prevention (SVP) Program will partner with state and local organizations to address root causes of sexual violence. In alignment with the SVP Program State Action Plan, this funding opportunity will support strategies that create protective environments and promote positive social norms through cultural prevention efforts.
