Local Health Departments can be a resource for people with hepatitis C.  They provide health education and risk reduction information, medical referral, and hepatitis A and B vaccines for persons who are un- or underinsured for vaccine.  Some Local Health Departments also provide testing for hepatitis C infection for persons without health insurance who are at risk for hepatitis C.
