Survey Topics

Some of the topics in the PRAMS survey include:

• Attitudes and feelings about pregnancy
  
• Prenatal care
  
• Smoking and alcohol use prior to and during pregnancy
  
• Pregnancy-related violence
  
• Stressful events during pregnancy
  
• Health insurance coverage
  
• Postpartum depression
  

Additionally, Wisconsin (with CDC approval) added questions on several topics:

• Emotional effects of being treated differently because of race
  
• Oral health
  
• Breastfeeding
  
• Co-sleeping
