DHS State Office Building
1 West Wilson Street

The 1 West Wilson Street building in Madison is
located two blocks from the State Capitol, across Wilson Street
from the City-County Building and directly behind the Monona
Terrace Convention Center. It is also known as the Wilson
Street State Office Building.
Directions from Milwaukee via Interstate 94:

As you approach Madison, take the Highway 30
West exit (Exit 240). You will travel on Highway 30
for several miles.

From Highway 30, take the State Capitol exit
(Highway US 151 which is also East Washington Avenue).

Take US 151 (East Washington Avenue) all the
way to downtown Madison. As you travel on East
Washington Avenue, you will approach the State Capitol.

About 4 blocks before the Capitol, follow US
151 from East Washington Avenue by turning left onto Blair
Street. Take Blair Street for three blocks, and turn
right on Wilson Street.
Note: Several streets converge at the
intersection of Blair and Wilson streets. Turn right
at the stoplight and you will be on Wilson Street. Do
NOT go through the intersection and turn right.
This will put you on John Nolen Drive and you can't get into the
parking ramp.

Continue on Wilson Street for five blocks.
The Monona Terrace Convention Center and 1 West Wilson
Street will be on your left.

Turn left into the parking ramp entrance for
the Monona Terrace Convention Center. This entrance is
immediately after the 1 West Wilson Street building.
Take a ticket as you enter the parking structure. Do
not park in any space with a "Reserved" or
"Assigned" sign.
Once you have parked, use an exit in the parking
ramp on the side away
from the lake. The large gray building outside these exits
is
1 West Wilson Street. Walk around the building and use the
entrances on Wilson Street. The elevators are in the center of
the building and in wings to the right and left sides. The
parking cost is approximately $1.00 per hour.
